Appointment Community Prep for Children
At Mental Heart Healing House, we believe that healing happens not just inside therapy rooms, but also in the spaces children encounter in everyday life. Appointment Community Prep is a guided experience designed to help young children build comfort, familiarity, and social confidence in common community settings.

Easing fears about exams, tools, and staff interaction.
Funeral Homes & Cemeteries
Providing compassionate introductions to spaces often tied to grief or trauma.
Grocery & Department Stores

Building confidence in making friends, taking turns, and understanding consent in play.
Hospitals & Labor and Delivery Wings
Helping prepare for family visits or future appointments with less overwhelm.
We meet each child where they are — emotionally, developmentally, and socially — to help them feel empowered in everyday life.

Appointment Community Prep is ideal for children ages 3–11 who experience anxiety, avoidance, or sensory overload when attending appointments or social spaces. It's especially helpful for youth with prior medical trauma, neurodivergent traits, or those needing support with transitions.
Each session includes one private community visit, either in-person or virtually (if available), guided by a trained facilitator. We provide emotional preparation before the visit, gentle narration and encouragement during, and support afterward to reflect and celebrate success.
Each session is designed for 1–2 children maximum. This ensures that each child receives the individual support and attention they need while also allowing for sibling or peer learning opportunities when appropriate.
